i think i blew a fuse...please help..
i was driving on the freeway with my lights on then all of a sudden my interior lights and corner lights go out...i think i blew the fuse...pretty much, when you turn on the lights, the corners, speedo, dash, and tails (not when i hit the brakes)are out...can someone please tell me where the fuse is and in which fuse box...i looked in both and really couldnt figure out which one it was? thanks a lot...
been there, done that
thats the same thing that happened to me. i have the corner light rewire mod (where they stay on all the time instead of just when you signal) and i replaced the stock corner bulb with hyper whites (which are about twice the stock wattage) and i blew my fuses twice before i changed my fuses. that little 10 amp is not going to handle it of course, i would recommend a 15 or maybe a 20. i dont remember which fuse it is exactly off the top of my head but heres a easy way to find out which one that is blown. first we know its a 10 amp. so pull out the 10 amps and look at the fuse. you can see the little metal link inside of them. if the metal link is broken then that means thats the bad fuse. i hope you can understand what i am saying.
Look for the Taillight fuse... that controls the interior, corners, and taillights. If you did the corner light rewire mod, you probably have a 5 amp fuse in there now and it blew... best bet is it up it to a 7.5 amp fuse.
POP... i hate blown fuses.. means something is wrong... check for any faulty wiring in your lights.. and if the fuse u replace it with constantly pops then u really got a problem and should stop putting fresh fuses in there and have it checked out.. pop pop pop sizzle smoke burst in flames.
Re: been there, done that
yup..exactly what you should do to burn down your car because overheated wiring. changing the fuse to 15-20 amp...great idea there. hope u have fire insurance.

4th gen is fuse #7
My parking lamps were out when the car was brand-new. After trips back to the Nissan dealer several times, the solution was to install a 10A fuse in place of the 7.5A. That was the solution coming from Nissan's mouth to the dealer.
Needless to say I didn't like it, but my dad whose an EE said it's ok, it's only the parking lamps/rear door pw switch lamps etc. It's been 2 1/2 years without problem.
Bump up your ratings one fuse rating at a time. Be careful to know what's on the circuit, you don't want to do that when there's electrical equipment on it, such as BOSE. But for lamps it's ok. Keep in mind I'm not saying this is true if your device is powered by a relay or fusible link (ie super high power headlamps). Good luck.
