Question is this: Do ceramic pads and drilled rotors mix?

I am waiting for my Hawk HPS pads to show up and installed Raybestos QS pads to save my rotors from damage. The pads smell like they are burning up under moderate stops. I do not remember any problems with my old Metal-Matrix pads.

Any ideas?

 

Its normal when you first install new pads, I have drilled/slotted rotors and QS pads and they don't smell anymore, it goes away after a couple days
