Breaking Engine on purpose?

This is all IF ok guys

I know these dope guys at this Performance shop.

My car is still underwarranty, and have an EXT B2B Warranty too, But If I were to break my engine, the VQ30DE, Theoretically I could get it replaced with the VQ30DE-k for free right? Both the motors should cost the same right?

nope....if they find any aftermarket part in your engine, most of the dealers will deny your warranty. If they do a warranty job, they will teardown your motor to look for what is broken and try to replace it with a new one. It all depends on how severe the damage is to the engine. Then if they have to replace parts, there is the waiting period for parts to come in which is usually around a month or so. You could end up not having your car for like 6 months or more.....that's what they do here.

Are you trying to be stupid? I suggest that you read your warranty agreement first and then post your reply here. Warranty repair is only done at the dealerships.

Holy crap. It's ILLEGAL to purposely DECEIVE the warranty holder. Holy crap.

I doubt that they would replace your motor. I know it's true elsewhere, and probably is here, but you can usually spot what caused the problem by looking at the problem itself. Filing a warranty claim for a replacement motor and all the work done to get it fixed would cost a lot. There is slim chance that you would get everything for free, just because you have a warranty.

But good luck on your adventure. Have fun trying to break the VQ though. You sure picked the wrong motor to try and "break".

arg.

1. Nissan of North America or your warrenter has the final say for if your claim will be accepted or denied. They generally dont hire out the work either, esp. not to a shop of your choice.

2. They will not replace it with a VQ30DE-K, and even if they were to, do you even know if its a direct replacement? (no.) You will most likely get a low mileage junk yard engine, or one from a dealership.

3. If you spin a bearing, you can replace it. Your source is incorrect. I've driven an engine that had 3 spun rod bearings.

4. Go ahead, try to break your engine. The only way you will be able to (stock) is run it on the highway in 2nd gear for a few hours (even then these engines are built pretty dang well). Dont even think about running it without oil or putting sand or something in the engine. It is easy to see when this happens, and you will most likely be declined the warrenty because of abnormal driving conditions, esp. when they turn the motor over and the oil pump works perfectly, and measures within factory specs.

Your best bet is to give up on this idea.
