xenons not HID

Hey does anyone know how sylvania cool blues or silverstars look? Do you think they would look good on my maxima? Anything else like these in this price range?

I have Silverstars, and I can say that they are pretty good for being a 45/65w 9004 Halogen light.

Also, I have started to notice that most everyone who has a Maxima, has a Durango too. My dad has a Black/gray 98 SLT w/ the 5.9. What a coincidence? You by chance aren't a computer guy too, are ya?

when you say "look good" what do you mean? They arent blue shining or anything but they are bright. I have had both and love my silverstars in my 92 (stock lights). I was in front of my wife the other night and noticed the cars around her...her lights (the 92 with SS) were much whiter than theirs.

Some say that they dont spread the light as well but from personal experience and living in the county where there are no street lights...the silverstars are the best ligths I have used.

i used cool blues for about a month. they're ok. but not as white as silverstars. I still have the cool blues, they're just sitting on my shelf at the moment.

yes they can be used for high and low beams. for the 3rd gen get 9004 bulbs. the 9004 bulbs has two filaments, one for low beam, the other for high beam.

i think i still have some pics of the silverstars on my digi cam. i MIGHT be able to get them up tonight.

you don't have to upgrade the harness for the cool blues or silverstars. they use stock wattage so no risk of frying the harness

I have Silver Stars and I think they look good. While we are on the subject of lighting...what bulbs should I get to replace my stock yellow (compared to the SS's) corner bulbs to match the SStars in whiteness?

NOKYA 9004 STAGE II ARCTIC WHITE are very brite, been running them for a year and no harness damage. They blow SS's out of the water.

Man!! You're one of the lucky one's, then. I had those same bulbs and they burned out my harness in the first month. Fortunately, this was right around the time I was going to swap the OEM lights out for the BMW's, so it kinda worked out.

Once I went for the swap, though, I first tried the SS's. And I do have to agree with everyone else, they ARE pretty white-looking. But then, on a whim, I switched over to some XD5's (of which, I've got pics on my website), and it's a night-and-day comparison. The XD5's are quite possibly the CLOSEST thing I've seen to HID's without actually getting the HID kit. And I've got friends (prinzII being one) that HAVE HID's and agreed after seeing them in person.

One day, I'm going to get my friend in his Sube to let me take side-by-side pics so everyone can see. But I swear by these bulbs and the next time I do a bulb change, it'll be to TRUE HID's, cuz I won't switch back to any other bulb.

ok, I'll get off my

i wouldn't put it THAT way...

the arctic whites are rated at 4100K while the silverstars are at 4000k. but i suggest upgrading your harness anyways since they're high wattage bulbs. better safe than sorry.

i used the Silverstars and tested them in my frequent trips between NY and Boston. I had to take them out cuz although they are very bright...my complaint against them is that they dont scatter the light well.

As a result...a very narrow patch of the road is illuminated in front of the car (and yeah that is a nice bright patch, but not in the rainf) ... so i went to return the Silver Stars to walmart and saw some ricey looking brand called "Cyber White" and bought those to test em...

I gotta say am VERY happy with their performance. I made a trip from Boston to Chicago and then to Iowa and mostly drove in the night...and these bulbs were just awesome in illuminating everything in front of me on low beam only.

stock wattage...45/65.

Dunno how long they will last though.

i dont think the box had the lumens on them. i can check. but the box "claims" that these bulbs are 97% xenon filled. dunno how good or bad that is.
