friend's 89 Maxima is overheating because the radiator is cracked. im replacing the radiator with one from a junkyard. can an older generation radiator be used as a direct replacement, with out any special modifications? if so what years?

 

i believe you would need to replace it with a radiator from a 3rd generation maxima witch would be years 89-94 and the motor would have to be the VG30E motor
