Blinker Light Help

This wierd thing started happening yesterday when I drove home from work. The left blinkers would blink twice as fast as the right blinkers. It started happening suddenly and I have never seen this before.

At first I thought it might have been warning me that a blinker bulb went out or something, so when I got home, i check it and they were fine.
The left arrow blinks twice as fast as the right in the dashboard, and the outside left blinkers also blink twice as fast as the right ones.

Does anyone know what is causing this? It has been kinda cold around here these past couple of days in NY, but i doubt its the sudden temp change.

the actual "blinker" (thermal flasher) is bad...round electrical piece that causes the bulbs to blink...located in fuse box

should be able to pick one up at autozone, etc. should be a few dollars.

I just checked itout again today. I noticed that the blinker blinks dimly on the fast blinking side. After a few minutes of testing, it worked normally suddenly. THe speed was normal and the light blinked brightly again. So i know the bulb is not bad. But it started blinking quickly and dimly again after a minute.

I am going to bring the car in for 30k service next week. should i just ask the dealer to fix it while hes doing that? would they overcharge me like crazy to fix something like that?

thanks!

you must be low on blinker fluid.....

actually look at soonerfans post. Check your fuse box and swap out your thermal flasher, should cost less than $5. If the dealer does it, it will cost about $100 or more.
