Am i just cheap? (Clear Side Lens)

OK, well i've been looking around for the regular side lens for my 2k2 and have pretty much found them to be around $54. Yea, that's fine and dandy......but i refuse to pay close to $15 in "shipping and handling" for them to come to my house in a week. Plus not to mention i'd probably have to buy new bulbs.....minimum $7 a set. Added up with would run my close to $100, JUST FOR CLEAR LENS! Can't find them on ebay for my car or any other local place. Am i just being cheap or is this really expensive. I've read that this is an "inexpensive" mod compared to other ones, but sorry that's alot of money for me. Are there any local places in the Central Florida area where i could pick them up? What do you guys suggest i do or do i just bite the bullet and get the lens and pay the shipping fee. The bulbs can come later.

I think your estimates are pretty close...4 clear lenses with LED or hyperwhite bulbs is going to run you upwards of $75, not much you can do about that.

For comparison, I paid around $50 for all 4 corners and something like $7 or $8 for shipping on Ebay. So I was up to $58 before I even bought bulbs. But here's something to consider if you're planning on staying with the factory amber/red scheme and not going to hyperwhite bulbs. The front bulbs are already amber, they don't need to be changed. And you can find a cheap set of red 194 bulbs for $3 or so. To be honest, they will look pinkish at night and I would recommend getting LED instead. But going this route could keep your cost in the $60 range. My $.02. Good luck!

**EDIT** - I almost forgot...add another $2 for a small tube of RTV clear silicone to properly seal the corners. Otherwise you'll be back here in a month or so posting a thread that says, "HELP!!! I have condensation in my corners!"

You can't beat that...$19 for the rear set. Assuming you could get the front set from the same vendor and they would combine shipping (which most of them will) you could get a set of 4 shipped to your door for under $50.

Hey, I just brought my clear lens from custom maxima today, and I was wondering where would I get that RTV clear silicone and the LED bulbs for the back. Also if you know what model number I would have to get for the LED's would be a big plus.

DOH! that's right, i forgot about the silicone! I hadn't seen those lenses on ebay, how did you get them? That's not bad if i could score them for $20 a piece plus the S&H....guess that would be the cheapest. Thanks guys!

Any auto parts store should carry clear RTV silicone sealant...

For the silicone, I got mine at Autozone but I'm sure you could also get it any any Pep Boys, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. You don't need any special brand or anything, just clear RTV silicone.

For the LEDs, some Autozones and Pep Boys carry them. A Google search for "LED bulbs" will yield tons of results too. Both front and rear take 194 bulbs. Good luck!

Nope, actually I've been slacking. Right now I just have the factory amber bulbs in the front (which look great at night) and regular $3 red bulbs in the back (which look like crap at night). Every time I start looking online for LED bulbs I manage to get sidetracked into buying something else.

OT - Where in Philly are you from?

I probably paid around $80-$90 for my setup. But I figured hey, it's a Maxima, not a f*ckin' Civic...
