2002 modified max vs stock 2000 bmw Z3

what do you think about a 2002 maxima (high flow cat, injen intake, greddy cat back exhaust, v-tech power control module, drop resistor mod, stock 17" tires) ... im thinking about putting in stillen polished headers too, but anyway, against a 2000 bmw Z3 in a 1/4?

wth is a v-tech power control module? I wasn't aware that we had v-tech. Do you mean mevi?

To answer your question, Yes you should be able to beat one pretty easily, auto or 6speed.

Dont waste your gas dude unless you just feel like making this guy look like a total jerk. You should be able to beat him with your family in the car.

it could be closer than you think. In the 1/4, I'd give the advantage to the Maxima cause we got more power than the Z3.
BTW, the Stillin headers have proven losses on the dynos... might want to consider that before buying them.

There are many types of z3's. 1.8, 2.3, 2.8, and 3.0. I think the 1.8 runs a mid15 and the 3.0 can run a low14. So I don't really know, find out which engine he got and check carstats.com

The 3.2 will pull on you all the way, but the 2.8 should get walked on. Not sure about the 3.0, probly tight competition

You should beat the 2.8L Z3, (193HP) however i'd imagine the 3.0L would be more than a handful unless you were modded as it is rated at 225HP, however puts down ~5-10 less whp than a 2k2/3 Maxima and it's RWD...

they didnt have the 3.0 till '01.

contrary to popular belief...this Z3 is a beast. 14.0-.2 stock with a good driver...high 13s with a highly skilled driver...

good luck if you see a 3.0 on the streets in the hands of a skilled driver...now they put the 3.0 in the Z4...my good friend's dad's Z4 pulled on a S2000 bad on the highway...

.... if your referring to the 3.2 that is the MRoadster i believe which is the Mpowered engine - and we are definatly not talking about that here because i dont think it would have been referred to as a "z3" - anyways any 3.0 would be a good match - they are rated 225 HP at the CRANK and are alot less torquey at the low end - not to mention the curb weight is 2 lbs off from being a 3000lb car and our max is just 200 lbs over that which isnt a BIG deal.. anyways 3.0 should be a good race - anything below that engine i would give to the 3.5 - and im terribly sorry but any z3 rather than the mpowered version isnt going to hit 13's on the street ... and dont bring this "highly skilled driver" non-sense in here - you think the majority of the people in here can pull a close to 0.0 reaction time and a sub 2.0 sec 60 foot time here ... no.
