Trunk Release Won't Pop Thr Trunk

When I hit the release from the remote or from the inside of the car, it will not release the trunk, I tried cleaning, and WD-40 to help it release smooth, but nothing. It releases fine when I put the key into the trunk though. Any ideas?

Thanks
~J

There is a little slide switch on the latch itself inside the trunk, used to prevent the remote operation. Check for this little switch, and move it to the other position. Mine was accidently moved once, same problem....

Yeah, when it originally stopped working, I thought it might be that, but I tried both positions, and still nothing, I believe the up position is where it is sussposed to be for the trunk release to work. Another thing, sometimes when I press it about 8-10 times it will eventually work.

Thanks again

I've been experiencing this recently too. My latch wont stay in the 'up' position so neither my remote nor the switch in the door skin is working for me.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Matt

check the release cable at the lock on trunk lid, pull plastic cover off and make sure cable is attached good.I had to bend my bracket a tad, works perfect now.

Mine does that too once in a while. You can move the lock assembly by loosening the 2 10mm bolts and adjusting it. The lock assembly may be holding too tight when the trunk is closed. Back the bolts (not the lock on the trunk itself but the part that the trunk lock goes into) out a little and adjust and see if that helps you. Also make sure the piece that the cable goes into is not bent at all...mine was sligtly bent which also caused some problems.
