whats up guys, just put my 3rd tranny in and this ****ing one has a problem i think. It makes a knocking noise when in idle and gear, but when you push clutch in the noise goes away. The knocking goes faster as you climb up the RPMs , at like 4k it is really fast. What do you guys think ? im ****ed

Could be the input shaft bearing. If i remember right, i think mine was doing the same thing. About $150 in parts and anywhere from 500 - 1000 in labor is what ive heard.

yup, input shaft bearing. mine is going out as well (2nd one). you can get the parts pretty cheap. the bearing and seal should cost about 50 bucks or so from www.drivetrain.com

i think im going to order them and install them the next time i have my tranny out (which for some reason seems to be every few months) i will also be replacing the 3rd gear syncro

what do you need to change the bearings and syncros is there a special puller or just a press

you have to use a press to get the bearings off.
