Took me forever, had to custom install these bastards cause the base of the bulb was a little too big. 6000k btw, i think its perfect.

All i could get for now, Ill get better shots tomrow, its midnight, im tired, that was a long and painful install for a "plug & play" kit...

Yeah, and who's the manufacturer? Definetly need a beam pattern. I'm losing patience with indigo and Umnitza, so fill us in.

actually the beam pattern is pretty damn good, i didnt have to do any adjustments, I parked my car down a street to see the glare from it, and its actually very reasonable. I saw the beam pattern on my garage door last night, and I dont see any spots, maybe its cause I have a 99 and the housings are pretty clear, Ill post more pics tonight.

Manufactuer is McCulloch, yes I know all the bad things, but its actually a nice kit for now, not bad for $320 shipped. This doesnt appear to be a cheap kit, I see nothing of the symptoms that other people got (flickering, only one headlight working), they are working prefect!

Well dude you've only just installed them. If that is the case with McCulloch's it might not happen for 3 or 4 months...

WoW! The 6000K looks awesome. Not too blue or purple. I'm definitley interested in replacing the stock hid's on my 02 with 6000k.

I like these HID threads. Just remember that the higher the Kelvin rating (4000, 4500, 5000, etc) the less usable light will hit the road.

Yes I know, thats why I went with 6000k instead of 8000k. It actually very white in person and lights up everything, with a hint of purple.

Yeah...geez...I stay up til 12:00 last night looking at stuff on the internet and helping him over the phone. Then he couldn't get them to work, and proceeds to call me at nearly 12:45 to tell me they work.

Chase...you bastard

j/k man...they look great.

on another note...I think this has to be the first 4th gen to ever have HID's on a stock Maxima.

Hahaha yeah it was a painful install, I was afraid I would screw up and *** up the electrical system. But it worked out ok. I got them from http://www.angelfire.com/ultra/brightlightz/

He is VERY good to deal with, I got mine in 5 days from the day I purchased them (This was over the long martin luther king jr weekend). Very fast shipping and packaged great.

They work amazing at night, I cant beleive I would ever go back to halogen ever again! they are much brighter than the HIGHs on the stock halogen, and the light carrys on farther, while not blinding drivers that bad at all.

Night and beam pattern pics:

Hows that for a beam pattern?

Out on the lake doing some nightly drifting... the lights help a lot, I can see the light all the way across, and this is a big lake, the picture shows 1/8th of the lake, and thats the smaller end.

Wow, very interesting. This post may have persuaded me to buy a set. What kind of custom work was needed? Where did you mount the balasts? Do you need to aim them a certain way or get some kind of projectors so they don't blind ooncopming traffic. Sorry to ask so much, I'm not familiar with HIDs.

Just a tiny bit of sanding on the top of the base of the bulb (not the actualy bulb, the plastic), cause it was a tiny bit too big for the stock housing, but it took only 20 mins to do both bulbs, also, wiring it up CAN be tricky, but if you get this brand of kit, I can help you out, its fairly simple. I actually put the bulbs in and thats it, no aiming at all! They actually worked out ok, I dont think ill need to do any type of aiming the headlights for awhile since they are ok now. I just mounted my ballasts away from anything that could interfere, im still trying to find a better place, but for now they are ziptied near the base of the housing. and no, I only have problems with blinding oncoming traffic on hills, but that happens with every type of lighting, otherwise, its aimed ok.

Yeah, I had the Hanabi 6000K back then but sold them to get my Catz 4500k Hi/Lo kit. Yes, the Max is still pretty much stock and a ton of parts are in my closet still.

I'm willing to bet come spring time it won't look so stock anymore.

BTW, how are those Hi/Low 4500K working out for you? Those Catz kits are a bit pricey though.

Nah, I'm going to keep it looking pretty much stock because I like the way the car looks without a kit.

The Hi/Lo kit is great. The bulbs come with shelds to reduce glare and a servo to control the up/down movement of the bulb. Since I'm lowered, I had to focus the lights upward more to see further down the road and I still don't get people flashing me like when I had my Hanabi kit.

In the rain, the color really makes a difference. You do see more road at night on wet roads. I'm going to find a way to make a cutoff though to reduce even more glare.

Yeah, I'm a member over at www.hidforum.com so I get a lot of info over there. It's much easier to get that cutoff with projectors.

Can anyone tell me, from the pics, does the beam pattern look ok? Or do I still need to do some aiming?

Oh I know, in person, the HIDs look soo much different from the pics. They look 10000x different than halogens. I had someone drive my car down the street, I was just more excited about my HIDs, they look great from a distance.

Looking at them with the naked eye, they look blueish/white with a hint of green.

My new kit looks like this(I don't have night pics yet)...
