Optima wont hold when cold.

I dont know what the problem is but every time we get a snow storm and I dont drive my car for about 1-2 days the battery is always dead. Only on the cold snow storm days though. Anyone know anything about this?

I have a spiral cell (champion, though) and it works great. We had about two weeks where it never got about 20 degrees. I would start it up every few days and it cranked just fine.

Later on, I left on one of my map lights for two weeks and it killed the battery. After charging overnight, I haven't had any more problems.

You might want to see if you have something draining your battery and that your charging system is working properly. Even if it is super cold, it should "weaken" your battery's ability to put out power, not kill it altogether.
