well i hit 100,000 miles on my max today :(
on the way to class today i had this urge to look down at the dash and sure enough i see "100000". Kind of a sad day really, as I'm thinking about selling it to help pay off my student loans when i graduate next spring. The money would really help in paying them off faster.... what would you guys do, keep it, or sell it to help pay off my loans faster??
by the way im a finance major, so i should know the obvious choice...
thanks

Choices, choices...
well if you plan to sell it dont sleep on it cause,
the more you wait the less you goin to get.
but hey thats a good major you have there,
do you have a job in your field ?if you do then you know the answer to your ?
if not wait and see what you get .. you should be able to keep the max and have enough money to pay for your loans.

I hit it about a month ago. . . it was bad luck for me, as I hit 100,000 I got pulled over for speeding (warning only).
The engine feels as strong as when the day I baught it.

OUCH!!!! that's going to be a sad day for me...
I'm at 64,650 right now, so I have a little while until i hit triple digits
before doing my 5sp swap I tried trading my 100k GLE for an SE, or selling it outright. Either way you won't get nearly what the car is actually worth in terms of reliablity and quality. You take it for granted until you end up in a shiny new ... cavalier or whatever.

Bogota eh? Im from Moonachie, but went to high-school and hang out in Teaneck all the time, what kind of Max do you drive? Perhaps I seen you around. . . im always in that aera (teaneck, hackensack, bogota, rp, etc).
In fact, I got pulled over 3 times last month in Bogota, 2 of which times I got a ticket
.(sorry for hijacking)
well its not so much i dont love the car b/c i do, its a matter of what makes financial sense. I will either sell the max and go get like a $2,000 civic or sentra or altima, something like that, and use the rest to help pay off my loans.
As of now i don't have a job in my field, but if anyone knows of any PLEASE LET ME KNOW, I hate my jobs now, and i need something more fun

Speaking from experience (I too have student loans), I wouldn't worry so much about them right now. First, you'll have six months after you graduate until you're required to start paying. You'll also have up to ten years to pay for the loan(s) after that and any interest you pay on them is tax deductible. Ok...enough of the financial stuff
In the short run you'll have some money (and maybe not enough) to pay for your loans and you'll be out a car that you know and trust and like very much.
In the long run, you'll have another car you may not like as much and not know the history of...and it may have more miles and have unexpected breakdowns because of age or what not..
So unless paying for your loans is a huge priority for you and the sale of your max will cover the ENTIRE amount of the loans then sell your Max. Then buy another Max when you get a kick *** job. Just keep in mind that you might not find one in the same condition as yours.
My opinion...keep it. You'll have a reliable ride until you graduate and to get you around until you find a decent job. Worry about the loans when you're making $$$! And don't worry so much about the mileage...most of us here have over 100k!

good point man, it is a very good car, and it hasnt given me one bit of trouble. I did just finish paying it off a few months ago. I'm just worried that something big will happen to it, mainly the auto tranny. I baby that thing like no other too, hardly ever get above 2500 rpms, mainly to save gas and make it last longer. I think im mainly worried about not getting a good job and having to pay back all this money and stuff..... although all my friends at work think ima be on the cover of fortune 500
