My trunk lid does not close. it just slams but doesnt lock in place. has anyone else had this problem? is latch attached to the trunk electronic? from what i can tell it looks like there is a wire running to it. the bottom latch on on the car works still because i can see it move when i press the trunk button on my remote.

 

Trying pulling the latch mechanism up, or moving the other pieces around...sometimes it gets released when it's open and needs to be reset before it can close, or something like that. I had that problem once and after I messed around with the hardware a bit it worked fine.
