tranny removal question
hey quick question...what is the easiest way to remove the clutch slave cylinder from the top of the transmission? 1. Im not 100% sure im looking at the right piece 2. if this is right..how the HECK does one get to the back bolt?
the Haynes manual speaks of disconnecting the hose from the banjo....yeah i have no idea

Don't disconnect the hose from the slave cylinder...that will require you to bleed the clutch system (unnecessary). Just remove the two bolts, and hang the cylinder out of the way (don't use the hose to hang it...put a zip-tie through one of the bolt-holes)
As for identifying this thing: The slave cylinder has two bolts on the bottom of it that fasten it to the tranny itself. It has a banjo connection to a hose that eventually leads to the clutch master-cylinder. It pushes against a lever that goes into the transmission. Oh yeah, it's the only thing on the tranny with a hose going to it.
The search isn't working (weird error), so this is the best I could dig up (photo-wise). There are a few decent shots of the slave cylinder.

In order to get to that bolt, just find a wrench/socket that you can squeeze in there. If you're having trouble here, wait until you get under the car
There's one bolt (through the shift-rod support bracket) that would drive a minister to drink.
