Where to mount the probe

I'm going to install the EGT gauge and prode tomorrow, wonder where you guys put your prode?

I placed mine just a few inches from the flange for the rear bank. Location is arbitrary. You need to get on a dyno with wideband O2, which I haven't done yet, and see what the temps are when you get the A/F right. If you put it way downstream, by the cat, you'll probably be looking at for a value a few hundred degrees cooler than if you put it right into the exhaust port. I think Mardisgras put his right up front, through the heat shield. I thought about that but decided to go here for simplicity since I had the Y pipe of during my turbo install.

Location is most certainly not arbitrary.

The probe needs to be mounted as close the the exhaust port as you can get it.

IIRC, the left bank runs slighly more lean than the right so you might wanna put the probe right after the front bank flange...
