SE seats in an S model

Hey guys, I just bought sum seats from a wrecked SE model to go in my S model. Will they work in my car? They are electric seats & I have the standard seats. So I have to modify the car with wire to wire the seats up or do my car alradey have the plugs? I haven't started removing the seats because its raining here & I have no garage. I know the seats will fit, but watn to know if the S model have the wired plug already under the seat..

By the way, the seats were REAL cheap. NZ$150 for both the fronts & rears.

Dont know if about the S model since we dont have that in the US but I have had 4 Maximas. 89SE, 90GXE, 92GXE, 93SE. The only one that came with power was the GXE. I put those seats in the 93SE and the wires were already there. The 90 I think had the wires there but I am really not sure about the 89SE since its a parts car and the interior was already stripped when I got it.

My guess is that the wires are there. Just look under you carpet or they might be connected to dummy terminals on the seats themselves. Thats the way it was on my 93SE.

Hi, I snagged leather seats out of a older GXE and put them in my SE. I didn't get electric seats though. Which models had them? Do the style of the seats change between 89-94?

Thanx

When I switched to the non-electrical cloth seats/interior to my black leather with electric seats, the plugs are already there. Couldn't have been an easier swap.

Yeah, but these are NZ-spec and assembled models & usually any wiring not needed is left out of the loom. My guess is you'll have to run wires from the fusebox for each seat because assemblers would have 2 different looms for the 4 trim levels (S, SL base models, SE, SEL up-spec models). If you're lucky, the plugs will be under the carpet already.
Another PITA is NZ Max's don't come with foglights, so no factory foglight wiring, factory foglights or foglight switch.

Hey Eddie - hope your house is on top of a hill in Wellington - esp with all the rain you're having.

Nah Nismo, my house is sorta on a hill, but it still got flooded just alittle. Lucky it was only in the kitchen & I had a rug that soaked up most of the water! Saved my carpet!!!

Going to do my seats 2nite, hopefully the plugs will be under the carpet. But if not, the junkyard gave me the plugs from the other car & just have to wire them up.

yeah the plugs should be there, Its probably cheaper for nissan to wire up all the cars with plugs then to deligate which ones will get power and manual seats.

Well, the seats are in except for the folding down part. I will change those in a few weeks. The plugs for the seats where there & works very nicely. It took me bout an hour by myself & I'm very impressed with the result. Will take pics 2morrow & post them soon.

Yeah, the plugs were there when I swapped MY seats also. Although I probably went a waaaaay different route than anyone else did with MY swap.

Ya see, I rather LIKE my cloth seats and don't really like leather. So, I had to get all the power 'guts' from the donor car's leather power seats, disassemble both seats almost entirely, and reassemble the power stuff onto my non-powered cloth seats.

Trust me, it wasn't nowhere near as easy as you may think or how I make it sound. Definate PITA install.
