Yeah the wire is a grounding wire I think.
If you are unable to get the bolts off then try taking it to a muffler shop and having them loosen them. Then drive the car home. Make sure to use new bolts/nuts...as those sound to be pretty much toast and not reusable.

There wasn't a chance in hell of getting the bolts off for me so ended up cutting them off with a dremel. I then went through 3 drill bits drilling new holes. Two years and no rattles though.

i just got mine on yesterday and it rattles a lil', even though he dremeled some of them out. hoping it's just the metal getting into place and all. let's hope!

i think you need to order them when you get your y-pipe or you could ask you local auto store. I plan on installing my y-pipe this sunday. Hopefully I won't have too much trouble with the bolts!

1. u'll need 14mm deep socket + extention
2. u'll need to pull like a ****! i mean really go all out and twist those rusted 14mms even if you sprayed some WD40.
3. if u stil can't get it off, use a torque wrench. i don't recommend it cuz u mite break the stud.

the fun part about modding is actually doing the work. taking it to the muffler shop is aite, but kinda defeats the purpose of modding. sure you can get the WHP, but where is the accomplishment?

that's what the org. is for. DIY style man... you could save up those a lot of $$ just do it yourself. not to mention u'll have extra $$ to get other mods.

good luck if u have any more questions feel free to ask...

umm im not sure where u can get it at exacly...i got it from schoool, but its alot better than wd-40 sh**, there was a bold that i wouldn't even take off with a impact wrench, but i soaket it with PB blaster for like 10 min hit it with a hammer so the vibration would get some of that russt loose and i took that bold off with a open end wrench with no hesetation

I stripped the bolt on the cat today trying to remove the old y-pipe If I were to torch it off or cut off the bolt, can you easily replace the thread too? or are they welded to the cat?

just get the cat off even if you strip the stud. i used a socket and a foot long cheater bar(you attach this to the end of the socket and use the extra leverage) i ended up really messing up the stud but i took my dremel tool and cut the stud off, then got my drill and some lubricating oil(its a must when drilling into metal i dont remember what its called but home depot has it) I just drilled out the stud in 10 min and got new slightly bigger bolts that fit that hole. just remember its not the end of the world if u strip the stud. but if you cant get the bolts off the cat with a cheater then i dont know what to tell u.

PB Blaster is sold at all car stores and maybe at walmart and hardware stores, but just go to the car store to be safe.
