99 injectors different flow rating??? interesting find

Ok so I have been having this problem with my max........with it hesitating, more so when its warmed up. So Dave B recommended I replace injectors...well JAY25 hooked me up with a whole set off his 98 I think.....So I'm looking at the ones Jay sent and the ones I just took off....and they look totally different. I was like lord I hope these things work. The main difference I noticed was the screen area that accepts the fuel from the fuel rail. On the 99 injectors this area is very small and the rest of the injector is covered in black plastic not allowing the fuel to flow to those areas.
Now looking at the 98 injectors the entire upper area of the injector is one big screen allowing optimal flow.
Now arent allot of 99's blowing engines with turbos etc??? are they using 370cc injectors??? If they arent using 370cc.....I wonder if the lack of flow on the 99's is the issue.

Anyone notice this or have any input on it??

Ok take a look at this pic..............injector in red is exactly like what I took out of my 99..........ok and notice the minimal filter screen on the bottom area that accepts the fuel from the fuel rail. Now the injectors from jay25 didnt have that black plastic peice thats above that screen at all......and in place of it was all screen..........thus my feelings that perhaps the flow on these is slightly better......

I looked at the part numbers when I was putting them in and the ones jay25 gave me are different from what I took out.

Well, Nissan only sells one now, take those part numbers and search on newnissanparts. Or post part numbers on here.

Nice picture.

The size of the inlet on the fuel inejctor isn't directly related to the flow rate of the injector. If you at the brown and purple injectors in that picture, they are both 370cc, but have very different inlet screens.

I've got a ton of 4g injectors in my garage (3 sets)...I'll compare them tommorrow.
