Rain-X safe on stainless steel?

Does anyone know if Rain-X is safe on stainless steel? I'm thinking of applying that stuff onto my Magnaflow muffler, hopefully allowing the mirror finish not to get dirty as fast. But if there are potential setbacks, then I won't do it. Thought I'd ask here first

Thanks in advance

Rain-X repels water when applied to glass. Makes the glass "slippery" so water just slides right off. Don't know of brass-o will have similar results.

A lot of metal polishes (paste, liquids) incorporate some protective polymers to help with that. I only found this out recently.

That's good to hear, I'll give Brass-O a try and see if it repels water. If not, i'll just have a very shiney muffler
