New I30t owner!

I picked up my 1997 I30t today!

97K, 5MT, White w/ tan leather. $6,500 and it was mine!

Mods so far: Intrax, KYB AGX, Stillen RSB, MOMO Race Air Leather shifter and pedal set, Brembo rotors, WSP Y-pipe.

To be installed: FSTB, Mille Miglia MM-11 rims, OEM SE white gauge faces, random stereo stuff, PIAA Crystal Ion H3s.

Needed: 97 center console (brown), AE deadpedal.

Driving it today was a sheer joy, even with the rain and a loug poo-poo aftermarket exhaust. Even my wife saw the fun in driving a 5MT after having loved my 96 GLE. The GLE was on H&R and Tokicos, and the I30 is on the Intrax/AGX, and the ride is more stiff but has better road feel without rattling me senseless.

I need a few more parts to make her complete, but for now she is looking good. I will get some pics up and spend more time in here in the coming months, but for now, hello fellow Infiniti owners!

Congrats on the purchase! I wished I had waited for a 5-speed I30. Oh well...

After a month with my auto Maxima I said the same thing. When I found the I30 that I wanted (18 months later), I went for it. Having the 5-speed is a lot more fun, although I STILL hate it in traffic.

In some ways I am happy that it is already modded, in other ways I wish it was not.

I hate the aftermarket muffler on it, but it can be swapped off. I like the suspension and the RSB, and there are a few mods that I plan to make in the very near future, but for the most part I bought it how i wanted it.

Welcome to this side of the house I know there are a few of us Maxima to I30 converts here. Like you mentioned it is good having one that is modded that saves you quite a bit of time and effort.

enjoy

I'm another Max-> I30 convert, and I'm loving it. I just responded to your other thread...but congrats again. Hope to see another I30 at the track next time I go.

I am going to try to make it April 4th.

Thanks for all of the support, guys.

Bad news, though, I threw a CEL today just driving along. Hopefully I can re-set it.

Well, I'm a RX-7 to I30t convert, so my opinions on modding the I30 are different from most everyone else (apparently), but congratulations on the new acquisition anyway. They're great cars. Hopefully the mods won't precipitate premature deterioration.

Does the 98 have the updated cupholders and center console, or is it the older useless ones?

Is the 98t a 5-speed?

It has the circle cupholders... although personally I prefer the useless ones in my '95.

The 98t is an auto, which is actually what I wanted. It's my new daily car, I have the manual monster in the garage for play (yes, the max is now retired as a daily driver...)
