I want to get some new seats for my max. I'm looking at some "racing" type seats because the stock ones just don't support me at all in hard cornering. My main question is if I do get some aftermarket seats will all the power seat parts and seat heaters work on the new seats or am I just dreaming??? Thanks in advance for any help. Chris.

 

I think it would be very diffucult to install heaters on aftermarket seats.

Check this out. www.MotorSportSeats.com. In the next four months I will be getting the Corbeau Legacy's from them. They can do anything custom you want. They have a great relationship with most seat companies especially Corbeau. I'm guessing that you could have a heater panel put in for not too much $$$. The power motor would be a different story though seeing as you would have to send them the motor and all that ****. I don't think that it would be very difficult to fabricate a bracket to adapt the stock to seat but the other motors that controlled the height, angle, pitch, etc.. would be very difficult. Although, IMO having a racing seat with power kinda defeats the purpose seeing as the power track has about a 1/4" of play. Maybe mine is just worn out but when downshifting my whole seat lurches forward a little. I'm tired of it so I'm going with the legacy in Tan Leather w/ Brown Suede inserts and Red stitching. Do you guys think the red stitching is ricey even if its kept to a minimum?

Give 'em a call. Jim Houston is the guy at the 800 # and he is a great guy. He explained the process of color matching everything and all the other needed steps. I will be sending Corbeau my color samples tomorrow.

 

if i'm not mistaken custommaxima.com sells racing seats for our cars as well. i'm sure they've looked into the power seats issue, idk about heaters though.

Please tell me your being sarcastic SEdge. Those seats are the sh!ttiest things I've ever seen. CM barely gave a thought to stitching them together much less a heater panel.

OK guys, my weekend activities show that you don't have to buy a seat with built in power functions to make it work. I spent six hours adapting my NEX bucket to the stock power rail and it works. I only decided to use the forward and backward motor because I wan't to eliminate the 1/2" of slop that is present in the stock seat. The result is that I have a power, rock solid racing seat and I only spent $140. Check my homepage for the details. Page 1 and 8. I know I need a harness to go with my seat. Don't worry its in the mail. And I know I need to do something about the switch but hiding it underneath is fine for now. It just messes with the carwash peoples heads.

 

Any welding? or just drilling?
