Is this the IAC Valve???

I took this thing off yesterday but I didn't really know what to clean, the FAQ said to take off the plastic? What plastic, the female brown connector?? I cleaned whatever I saw and I still have that annoying popcorn sound, i never had it before.. Only when I turned the car off I would hear the ticks...

A ticking popcorn like noise, according to most orgers you take out the IAC clean it with TB cleaner and the ticking should go away, I dont think I cleaned it right or understood the instructions correctly...

Did your IACV have a gold metal thing that was secured by 3 screws that went into those 3 screw holes? If it did make sure to use locktite on them when you take it apart again, as they do not have washers. I was pretty worried about mine and took off the IACV a few days later just to put the loctite on. I had read a thread or a post about this and how they may get loose and get sucked into the intake manifold.

By the way I did take out that brown thing and sprayed in there with some intake cleaner and I used a rag to clean out the more stubborn stuff. My cars low idle is fixed now .

Shat, I didn't put no loctite, i'll do it tomorrow just to be on teh safe side... I had a low idle but I changed the fuel filter/pcv valve yesterday along with cleaning the IAC (not the plastic part) and it went away... Im more concerned about this damn ticking noise the car makes... not the injector ticks I mean different ticks that happend every 2 seconds and are random

Hopefully once you clean it out again it will solve your issue. My IACV did have some crud where that brown thing goes into, just take out the 3 screws on the brown thing and it comes right out.

I just took that gold cap thing off. I learned that newer 4th gens don't have the cap, but have dimples for hte screw holes.

It would dip down to 500 sometimes while idling, when i would accelerate in neutral it would dive down to 500 and lift up to like 600... now it dont do that anymore it just stops at about 700
