I had to be towed the other day because my clutch fluid mysteriously leaked out overnight, and when the guy let it down off the flatbed he used too steep an angle, thereby tearing my muffler up. Questions:

-How much would it cost generally to get a new stock 4th gen muffler and have it put on? (This is what the towing company will pay for obviously)

-How much would it cost to get a 5th gen muffler and have it put on? (I know some people here have done this.)

-Should I just go for a 3 inch exhaust, and has anybody done this and how much would it cost?

if your sc or nitrous get 3in.. otherwise its better getting 2.5 or 2.25"

dont know about those mufflers.

 

2.5'' with a magnaflow, make sure its resonated... otherwise go for 2.5'' with a resonator and a dynomax super turbo

 

Apexi just released a new valved muffler. Closed and quiet during normal driving, opens up when pressure increases. It was in Super Street within the last couple months. It may have been that screwed up backwards edition. I'll try to find it tonight.

Where's the best place to buy a 5th gen muffer?

 

Keep an eye on the F/S forums. They pop up in there from time to time. Maybe Ebay?

 

how about I "sell" you my old stock exhaust (Muffler and B-Pipe) for $5000. The towing company pays it: we split the money 50-50 and buy turbos.
