hey guys i'm changing my rotors and pads tomorrow...i was wondering if there is any way i can adjust my brakes so i don't have to push the brake pedal an inch before i feel any braking pressure? i'm pretty sure when the car was new the brakes were a lot more sensitive. last time i got a brake job i thought this would be fixed but it didn't happen. any ideas?

 

getting that new stuff should help, make sure you havbe full fluid.

 

Also ask if the brake service includes bleeding the braking system. That usually can bring braking performance back to new. Air and moisture in the lines causes mushyness.

 

Adding to "drewm" bleeding even a complete change to new fluid will help and least expense, next but more costly braided brake lines ( less expansion under pressure than rubber resulting in better pedal pressure), last and only if necessary brake master cylinder can cause that "inch of nothing" feel in the pedal, but this item will be pretty expensive. good luck

 

Get a Big Brake Kit.

 

All brake lines are braided. I think you meant to say SS braided lines.

 

actually i'm going to do the brakes with a friend at his garage. is it hard to bleed the brakes?
