Changed Brake Pads but its worse now!!!

I finished changing my brake pads last night, and it feels like it has become worse. There is barely any pressure in the brake pedal, I have to push down alot for the car to come to a stop...btw my brake fluid is filled up to the max line??? Does anyone know what is wrong? I used Friction Master Ceramic brake pads.

Thanks

If you changed your pads and had to remove any hoses, you let air into the lines and you need to bleed them everytime to get that air out. The air will cause lack of braking and could cause an accident.

No I did not, one of the pistons popped out, and some of the brake fluid came out, but then I put the piston back in and filled up the brake fluid after re-installing the piston.

If you did the rear pads, did you align the notches at the back of the pads with the notches on the piston? The piston must be turned a little bit further untill notches match.

If Iam not mistaken it sounds like your piston popped alllll the way out like to the point were you could hold it in your hand. This probably happened because someone got it the car and pushed on the brakes with the caliper off. DONT DO THIS!!!!!!!! This means you let a WHOLE bunch of air into your brakes and they need to bled like NOW. I would not be riding around with that bad of brakes.

Yep, it's not a joke. You cannot compress a fluid, but you can compress a gas. That means you can press on the brakes and nothing will happen since the air is being compressed.

Superblack, I think all you need to do is bleed your brakes. While your at it, you might as well flush out all the old brake fluid if it hasn't been done before. Air in the line causes a mushy feeling. Hope that helps. And like maxdaddy said, don't ride on it like that because you might get in an accident.

FYI...

My ISP's discontinued their relations with Earthlink so they deleted my pages...
I need to find a backup of the pages (er, actually the picture files folder) from one of my backup HDs... I already have another host ... S/B back up in about a week or so.
