Question on MAF install....
Have an "updated" MAF for my 2000 with a Berk intake.
Would you go through the trouble of taking apart your intake so you could install the new MAF with its new tube, or would you just change out the sensor, keeping the original tube in place?

Update:
I was unable to remove the sensor from the new MAF without placing too much force, so I just took apart my Berk and installed the entire new MAF; sensor with its new tube.
Glad I did because I noticed I had not pushed the K&N filter on all the way the first time. After pushing it all the way I noticed that most of the whistle sound is gone (So if your intake is whistling loudly, check that the filter is on all the way onto the MAF adapter! There is a lip inside the K&N which at first stops it, but you have to push pass the initial resistance.)
Anyway, with the updated MAF the idle and acceleration are smoother, but only slightly. I will keep the original MAF (since it was still working) as a back up.
Anyone blow the updated MAF for the 00-01?
I noticed that with the updated MAF you can't see the wire as you can on the orignial one. Seems like the wire is hidden from view; maybe to protect it from stuff that gets past the filter?

sascuderi - which k&n filter do you have? (part number wise) as a side note, i have not heard of anyone blowing the updated maf. i have heard the connector on top has 1 more pin than the standard one and that like you said the wire is harder to see which may help prevent a failure.

Ya, mine has the extra pin too. My K&N is RU-2820.
