Another victim of radio display failure!

I knew it was too good to be true! My new purchase which until yesterday seemed just about perfect considering age and mileage, I have now realized has the dreaded Bose radio intermittant-display-failure. The radio and CD both work fine but about 50% of the time since yesterday morning I have no display to show me the radio station or status of the CD. I am going to try and live with it as long everything else works OK. I am also trying to remind myself that if this is the worst thing I discover wrong with a 9 year old used car, then I am doing pretty good!

Is there anywhere that will repair this problem that does not charge over 100 dollars and does good work? I'd imagine that if you know what causes it you can fix it in about 10 minutes and for about 2 bucks worth of parts...

I checked the FAQ's and it only mentions BOSE radios.

I have the stock Nissan radio(GXE). My display does not work when the lights are on. The display works fine when my lights are off. You know when you put your lights on the display should dim a little. Well mine goes out all completely. It used to come and go, now it does not come on at all when the lights are on.

Does any one have any suggestions, other then turning on the map light to see my display.

Thank you for any advice.
