Air Intake Box Unknown Wire????

I Bought a 97 max from a stealership and it had in aftermarket intake, i took it off and bought a 96 stock intake box from ebay. the box itself has a 3 to 4 inch wire that comes off with a connector on it, My problem is i have no clue where this wire goes to. I looked all around in my engine bay and the only wire not being used is by the drivers side head light but i dont think its it because it dosent even come close to reaching it. Any idea's

On the intake there is a BLACK tube witha pink sticker on it. It has a connector plugged into it. The black tube is the MAF. Follow that connector from the tube using the wires coming from the connector. You'll get to a single bunch ow wires covered in ELECTRICAL tape. One set is the wires you followed and another set The other set, if you follow it away from the tape, has a connector at the end. That's the IAT.

I followed that wire everywhere it went and there is no connectior that is not being used. would it have anything to do becuase its a 96 air intake box and my car is a 97. If anyone has a chance it would be a GREAT help if they could maybe take a picture of where the wire is that there connecting it to. Ive looked everywhere and cant find where the hell this wire goes. Thanks alot

If there is a connector at the end of the other strands of wire then that's kit. Think about it. Why would you have a free connector now if your intake is still in the car? That connector should be have a plastick half circle with a small resistor between the "arch". You replace that with the one on the new box. Take pics or something.

the 95-96 airbox is different then the 97-99. The 95-96 boxes have the air temp. sensor in them, kinda oval shaped with 2 screws holding it in the box. On 97-99 the air temp. sensor is in the "ram air" snorkel, and it is a probe style sensor....and it pierces a rubber grommet to stay in place. You must have the 97 one plugged in so dont worry about the 96 one, just leave it be.
