I have infinity kappa 6.5" in all doors and 1" tweeters and I'm non bose. I'm pretty sure 6.75" will fit aswell. Ebay did have some brackets for the speakers so you don't have to destroy your factory ones.

GXE's have just 4 6.5" door mounted Clarion speakers, they suck big time. No tweeters at all. I upgraded to some Infinity components front and Polk db rear coax. Time to yank it out for some Boston Pro series all the way around with one W7 in the trunk.
ill be installing CDT audio competition components, but I have the 4" since the 6.5" one are just out of my price range.... would I need to get brackets??
also one vital question... the 4" speakers can sound better than the stocl 6.5 right?? just wondering..

B.S I will show a picture of my 01 GXE with no tweets, I have the non CD stereo. Only the 5spd GXEs came with the cra.ppy radio, and where the lightest 5th gen of all 5th gens. I am the original owner of my car for the last hmm 90K miles, I even did my own predelivery inspection on my car when it came off the truck. I took my Maxima home with the plastic over the hood, roof and trunk. My Maxima came with steel wheels and ugly 15" hub caps, I'm proud of it too !
Here is proof that my GXE has no tweeters in the A-pillars... I am the original owner of this said vehicle since 2 miles on the odometer. I drove it right off the truck also - cause I used to work for Nissan.
I have an 2002 se and I have the speaker cover in the front pillars for tweeters with the no bose edition cd player. My question is does the se version come with a compenent speaker set in the non bose edition. Basically i want to know if there are speaker in there without removing the pilar. and if there is do they work. I'm assuming no and no but i wanted to see if anybody might know.
It sounds like there is sound coming out of there but i think it may be from the door coaxials. I have terrible hearing so it is hard for me to tell.

I'm under the impression that any 5th generation Maxima with tweeter grills on the pillars has tweeters behind them.
My dad has a 2k GXE, but with all options a GXE can have, and his car has the pillar tweets. You don't need to have a BOSE option to have that, as you can see. The only option that doesn't have the pillar tweets is the single din, base base model GXE's, which are probably more rare than any other Maxima
