Headlights dimming

While driving at night I notice that my headlights will often dim just slightly (noticably though) and they also do it when I roll up my windows. Do I need a new battery or is it something more difficult?

do you have a system? if so, and if you run it all the time, get a capacitor, its exactly what they are made for..decent prices on ebay, brands don't really matter

If you have a high wattage stereo system, you probably need a capacitor.

If not, then go to Autozone and get your alternator and battery checked.

Unless you get an upgraded alternator, it's normal.

this is normal. ur puttin more pressure on the battery and the cables when u try to roll up windows while the lights are on, this causes less electricty transfered to the lights, thus u see them dimming.

I know this might seem normal to everyone, especially with a substandard battery but you might want to check your ground wire. Mine used to do the same thing & it turned out that the ground strap on the negitive side of my battery was loose. Maxima's are notorious for having bad grounds, Stillen sells a grounding kit but I find it to very over priced. You can find grounding kits on ebay all day long for cheap, look into it. Heck you might even find a few ponys especially if your ECU is struggling to get good current flow from your battery. Just my 2 pennies........

^Yep. It's not normal. It means a ground or two is weak, rusted or something. Try to find some ground points and clean them up. I looked in the FSM but couldn't find them.
