Car won't start after fuel filter change

I depressurized the fuel system before replacing the fuel filter. Now when try to start the car, it won't start. There is no fuel being pushed through the fuel filter. I followed the Haynes manual when replacing the fuel filter and it says nothing about repressurizing the fuel system. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Did you put the fuel pump fuse back in?

I agree, double check the fuse. Make sure it is in the correct spot. I made that mistake the first time. Also check to make sure the fuse isnt blown.

If that doesnt work.....How many times have you tried to crank it? This is a long shot, but look to see if the security light to the left of the steering column is on solid. It should be flashing. If its on solid, call a tow truck. It would mean your immoblizer system is activated. Its a reach, but it happened to me. You'll have to take it to a dealership to have it reprogrammed.

It should take it a few to get it going. There is no fuel in the lines.
The fuse is probably your problem.

Not to undermine your DIY ability - but are you sure you didn't install the filter upside down... it would definitely still fit...

If you don't hear the whirring its most likely your fuse - I know at least one fuse near the fuel pump fuse is "unused"... double check that you didn't replace the "wrong" fuse.

Thx for all the replies... yea it was the fuse. I placed it in the wrong "unused" location since there were 2 unused fuse locations near the fuel pump fuse after i pulled it out. Stupid me

Everything else was fine... and no i didn't install it upside down lol. Now it's back up and runnin
