Help went through 2 mass air flow sensors and think its cuz of my injen CAI!!!

I had my car about a year and never had a problem..not even a belt sweak!!But then i bought a CAI...A few months later.I say 5 months my car started jerking on the freeway and i pulled over and then it stopped.the next day my car whouldn't stay on at all. it kept dying and boging out!So i took to a mechanic and he changed the MAFS and it stoped and never had a problem...till about 2 weeks ago when it started doing the same thing,so i went and got another sensor and the problem stopped again..but yeasterday i got the same thing happening.the car starts pulling and dyes out.So i unplugged the sensor and replugged it and it stops! What can i do because the sensor is making me sooo mad!!Do they sell another sensor that will work better if not where can i get a cheaper one because i don't wanna buy another one. Also is this even my problem?is it something else?Someone please help me with this!!

1. Turn the selector screw clockwise to its stop.
2. Wait 2 seconds.
3. Return back by turning the screw counterclockwise to its stop.
4. IMMEDIATELY REPEAT steps 1 to 3.

I've had an Injen CAI for about a year now and never had a problem. My guess is there's something else causing it, just my own .02

before replacing, clean the sensor with alcohol and q tip. The oil from the filter causes it to mess up.

Turn your car to "ON" just before starting so you see the Check engine light. Then use a tiny screwdriver (to turn the little plastic white screw inside) and follow those steps. Then the check engine light should start flashing. Count the short and long flashes to determine the code. There can be multiple codes so keep counting.

PS: If you have never done this, the screw is protected by a plastic film. It should be behind the plastic film covering it.

Yes the 2 little sensors in the middle of the MAF, I just sprayed TB cleaner on mine. If it is completely messed up, u might find good deals on ebay

You mean you sprayed throttle body cleaner on the sensor?

just make sure you dont put too much oil on the filter or let it run off when you dry it because it can cause the mafs to go bad. maximum96 is correct. good luck and just make sure it is dry.

I dont think spraying throttle body cleaner on the MAF is wise. It's very sensitive and you will probably end up messing it up. If you have to clean it, take a Q-tip with alochol and gently wipe off the dust. You can also clean off the MAF screen/filter as well while you have it apart. I'm running the Injen CAI myself and have had no problems. Just make sure you follow the recommendations stated and do not over oil the filter when you end up cleaning it. That issue has been known to cause the MAF to RIP.

I had a similar problem happen to me...where the car started boggin then would die when I'd come to a stop like it couldn't idle. It was one of my hoses came disconnected from my intake. Reconnected and was just fine. Maybe something like this happened and you left it disconnected and something flew through the maf?? Not sure.
