Air Bag Light Flashing. Need Help.

I have a 99 Nissan Maxima SE with dual front airbags and dual side airbags. One day all of a sudden, my air bag light started flashing. I tried the reset procedure (pressing the button on my the driver's side door 5x within 7 seconds), but it didn't work.

Any other suggestion?
How much would it cost to repair?
Any good and affordable mechanics out there?

Thank you.

-Open door
-turn key to On
-Press switch as many times as u can for 10 secs
-turn key halfway between LOCK and ACC (this is not labeled but is considered #1 position)
-close door
-start engine

Keep at this until it works......remember turn the key to #1 (not labeled on ignition switch) after button presses.....go try and let me know what happens

Nick7455,

You are the MAN! Thanks a lot. You've saved me a lot of money. After my third attempt, the light went off.

Greatly Appreciated,

Trust me the FAQ is not the way to do it. I thought that I couldn't get mine off for almost 2 months and almost bought a new side airbag...then i tired it like 3 times and just did different key position...then it went away!!!

2 months later and still no light =P

calm down...it is on the frame of the car.....look at the area where the end of the door closes onto. These is a little rubber button there....that is what needs to be pressed ^ ^

Nick7445, guess what? After 1 week of no airbag light blinking, it came back today. Been busy, but I will try the reset again when I have time. Would suck if I have to keep doing it every week. Might have to take it to the dealership and pay an arm and a leg.

I have found that disconnecting and reconnecting the airbag harness at each possible place will sometimes turn off the light.
The 98-99 are especially prone to this because of the connection in the seatback for the side airbag. Don't forget to try this one, although the ones under the seat may do the trick.
