Hello everyone,
I had my Y pipe (cattman) installed last week and under heavy acceleration it makes a rattling/metal-metal impact sound. In the FAQ and other post it says that because it is making contact with the crossmember.

My (dumb) question is which part is the crossmember:
the big bar going front to back under the engine on to which the engine mounts are attached or the small bar that goes accross the exhaust pipe just before the cat. converter? (a picture with an arrrow would help)

And the second qouestion is: what is the fix for this issue?

It's the large bar located under the cat and take it off to fix the banging.

any pointers for the cattman y-pipe installation? i just got mine today!!

i heard someone saying something about using some washers on the crossmember to give it some more space w/ the y-pipe.

 

i have the same issue with my warpspeed. is it ok to take offf the crossmember?

 

You can remove it or just add washers. Mine has been removed for about 8 months and there has been no adverse side effects.
