HID Problem

Problem: It seems on one of my connectors got some water in because it started getting toasted inside and brownish. It still works though but disconnects because the connecter isn't as tight anymore.

Temp Solution: I took some electrical tape and wrapped it around really really tight and for now it's working.

What I plan to do is cut both sides off. Go to Pep Boys and buy a new connector and hook everything up. I am worried though that if this does not work, I am in big trouble. Anyone messed around with this before? Should I do it or just stick with the electrical tape. I am afraid I will have to sooner or later because it gets really warm and the other side doesn't. Thanks in advance.

Mike
