Stillen K&N Cone and Engine RPM

I just installed a Stillen K&N cone filter in my dad's 92 Maxima with auto trans a few days ago. He is telling me that the auto transmission is shifting harsher and sometimes the car is shifting at higher RPM (which would cause the harsher shifting). Has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks!

does it only happen when he stompes on the gas? because i also have a stillen filter and the only time it shifts harder is when i put my foot to the flore. the rpm will go to about 6grand then shift into second when getting on it. go fore a ride with him and have him punch it from a dead stop and on the tranny setting se if the power light alluminates. then have him take off from a dead stop but ease into it.to se if it still shifts at the higher rpm.

you probably disconnected your dropping resistor...(silver square tube). plug it back in and the tranny will be normal.

Yeah.....I'm guessing it's the drop resistor.

Thanks everyone, I'll check out the drop resistor mod and see if it is loose.
