I don't see where all your connections go to for the intake. Are they at the bottom? Here is mine. Full blown CAI. 56k beware!

The hella's own! I have them working with my last remain stock horn. The other was damaged back when I had my accident a couple years ago and stop working. So before I had them, I just had the single high pitch beep. Road Runner sounded beefier than my horn then! :P

Sarin, or anyone who knows, by any chance would you have the number of connections and their diameter sizes of your custom piping that is directly connected to the TB? Is there only two connections coming off that section or is there some that cannot be seen in that picture? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

The number of connections is 4 on my car. I don't remember the sizes off-hand. THough you might want to note that we seem to of found a different between the 85-86 and 87-88's. The 85-86's seems to have 4 connections, where the 87-88's have 3. On the stock setup, I believe there will be 1 connection that you can't easily see. It's the line that runs from the resonator box to the AAV. Then you have the 2 big ones that run from the BCCD and the front valve cover. On the 85-86, there is a line that runs from the carbon canister to the resonator box.

The resonator box is the metal box that the AIV is mounted on top off and where the Air goes immediately after passing through the MAF? If that is the resonator box, is it safe to just bypass it and connected the hose that is attached to it into the custom midpipe? Or did you have to do something else also that the Resonator Box does. Seems odd that they would just randomly put a big metal box in there when they could have just attached the hose into the rubber pipe connecting to the TB.

You can bypass it. Mine was completely removed from the car. That's the beauty of it!

the meteal box is a silencer, to silenc the engine growl. u will notice the diff if u wer just to put a straight pip in, u will be abeal to hear the sucktion of the car with out the big box. thats y all the cars have plastic boxs hooked up the the intake to silence it. like hondas the have alot of thoes boxs to shut them up.

Ok I took out the resonator box and have my mid-pipe in production right now. Question is, did you leave the components that were attached to the top of the resonator box just suspended in free air? Or where did you bolt them to for an alternative?

Probably a good idea to secure them to something, but mine is floating around.
