sorry that is too broad a question. Best thing to do is talk to the painter that is painting it and ask him.

It is to broad because we need to know what kind of paint (base coat, clear coat or single stage) and what brand (PPG, SW, Dupont...etc.) and what product of the brand (ex. PPG also has a lower level called Omni).

see why it varies.

To be general though...

if you use BC/CC that is mixed 1:1 then you will probably only need about 2 qts of color (2qts of reducer added will give you one gallon). On clear its safe to figure on a gallon.

I know I am going to fix the body of mine soon and i knwo the materials (in canadian dollars) are going to eb around $400 and that is wiht using ym current base coat.

I am going to fix all the spots that need fixing then wet sand the whole car, then spray a house of kolor kandy on it (Cobalt Blue) then clear it,wet sand and buff. Then I am goign to have my wheels powder coated white.I think it will look good, what do you guys think?

Big thing with a paint job is think about what you want,if you want a nice well done job then you are going to have to pay for it.If you just want a shoddy job to cover up spots then you can get a cheaper job.To answer the first question thoguh you will need a gallon of paint for your car to be safe, these are not a small car and you dont want to mix batches of paint just in case.

I've read from some that if you do ALL the prep work yourself, the paint will last a few years. Many attribute the poor quality of a Maaco job due to the poor prepping done by them where the paint would start chipping within 6 months.
