did my oil change yesterday (took 2 1/2 hours!!! cause my jack was going out on me)

when i changed the oil, i took the old oil and put it back in the oil bottles, but it only filled up 3 bottles. i always put in 4.

i remember someone posted something about that and i thought that was crazy, but i lost a quart in about 5-6 weeks of driving (although i kinda drive aggressively... like most on the bbs ... but man, didn't realize i was losing so much.

Did you change the oil filter along with the oil? Just wondering, cuz that could have something to do with the loss.

but that should't take up an entire quart. and even if there was a lot of oil in the filter, that would only count if it was my first oil change. after a while, it gets to a point where you put in so many quarts, and you should get back that amount (minus the burned oil which i thought would not have been so substantial).

i'm not too concerned, but just made this observation i didn't realize. it does mean that i will be checking my oil level between changes though.
