Maxima Tranny Question

I have a 01 se auto max. Ever since i bought the car i noticed that the maxima auto tran shifts a little harder or even firmer then most auto cars. It's not thats its slipping, its just that i can fell when im shifting to another gear. Other auto cars iv driven, they shift so smooth i cant even feel it shift. Can you guys tell me how your autos shift, are they smooth that you dont even feel it, or do they shift firm. Also, anyone with an auto tranny cooler installed, did it smooth out your shifting. Hopefully in a year or two i can save up enough for a 3.5 6sp

also what other cars are you comparing the tranny to ? Some Honda trannies- like the older Premium 3.2TL - not the Type S... shift very smooth compared to a Maxima tranny. But they fail within about 10-25K miles on average. I work at a Acura dealer as a Tech, I drive alot of trade in Maximas and I feel that some Maximas do shift harsher, but in reality that is actually good for a auto tranny. With smoother shifts there is more slippage involved, and this creates alot of heat. Heat is a Auto trannies worst enemy, why the Honda 5AT is just a pos... I do around 1000 of these a year at work. Basically Honda pays for my mods on my Maxima And Alot of Maximas in Chicago are rolln hard thanx to the Acura shop where I do their mods

I was comparing them to my old 2000 corolla, a 2000 subaru outback, and my moms mitsu outlander, and an old camry. Thanks for your input
