My GroundWire kit cleared my CES light

I installed this new type of ground wiring kit that I purchased from Japan. After install it, it cleared my engine light. How odd..This new type if a box with three wires. The 2 in the front go to the neg n pos of the battery, while the other part goes to my valve cover. It's supposedly is better than the old school ones with all the wires, and well after sometime it is! It's manufactured by K&G Japan. It's called the DPS Ground Wiring kit. I'll pics of it soon, anyway, anyone know why it cleared the code?

Did you happen to disconnect the neg battery when you installed the grounding kit? That would clear the code.

Nahh it shouldn't clear a code if U remove the battery for only 30 min or so. The ECU has its own backup source its advised to let it sit for around 12-14 hours for it to reset. Hondas will reset within 5 min of removal of the battery cable.

Or Nissan ECUs might reset within 5 minutes if you remove the battery cable and add some electrical load (e.g. press the brake pedal)

I bought it off of this store, they only had 10, I am in constant contact with them so I'll keep you updated. I've tried countless times to reset this thing. I tried that battery thing before it didn't work, I had my friend try to reset the code, it didn't work, some how this thing worked. It's something new in Japan, it's unlike the conventional ones that are out here in America. I'll take pics soon =)

Btw, my ground wiring kit looks way different than your's sooner, you have more wires :P I only have 2 short wires that go to the battery ports, and a long silver one that comes out from the back of the small box. I have the box if you want to see if I can scan it, it shows a picture of it; though it might be hard to see :P IM me if you really want to see it, I am too lazy to post it up on here :P

Get un-lazy...I want to see what you're talking about. It SOUNDS like it's a voltage regulator, NOT a hyperground....

Also, the kicker - how much did you pay for it?

btw, the link Soonerfan posted is my car (although I helped with his, and it's virtually identical)....

no that's not it, it doesnt say stabilizer, it says groundwiring kit =P it has 2 wires in the front and a long one in the back. Ok let me scan this but I have no idea how to post, someone's gonna have to show me

hmm...you need to host the pic on a server (like a cardomain site...)

or email it to me....I'll pm my email address. And I'll host it on my site...

3 wires doesn't sound like much of a hypergrounding kit....

Like I said it's something new, must you guys diss something that is new? Don't be so doubtful :P Btw it says ground wire kit on this in japanese, I am fluent in that lanugage and I know my kuso Where's ur email?

Btw since I had to "proove" this was a ground wiring kit, if you still don't believe me dont worry I'll have pics of the actual item up on my cardomain site sooner or later..I don't care if u guys believe me or not, I hate the org anyway :P hehe

check your pm, like I said...I'm not posting my email here on the forum!

hey not dissing, just not sure how you can reinforce the ground on several components (alternator, engine block, etc...) with only 3 wires...that's all. I'm not saying what you got doesn't work, I'm just saying that maybe it's something different from what we generally consider a "grounding kit" or "hyperground"

You should know as well as anyone how words mean different things in different languages....

no trust me it means what it means in japanese dissing that too huh :P It grounds into the metal part of the engine, it's really weird..There are 3 wires, the 3rd one needs to be put somewhere by the engine, I bolted it down by the valve cover, well close to it, it's on the engine..I'll take pics of it eventually..It does what it does, and ground wire means the same thing in japanese as in english..Baka buso :P

ok man, here's your pic.
This is NOT a hyperground. This is to regulate the voltage of your battery to make it more consistent. A hyperground connects to all of the engine's electrical components (alternator, etc...) to supplement the OEM grounding wires. This thing you have doesn't attach to the alternator/ac condensor/etc. does it?

Not trying to start a ****ing war, man. The thing you got I'm sure does something good for the electrical flow as well, but it doesn't ground your components since it is not ATTACHED to the components....that's all I'm saying.

Yeah it does connect to one electrical component and it "spreads" out through the entire system. Like I said this is something new in Japan. Btw what kicker were you talking about?

Oh and it connects to the neg and pos of the battery, inside the box there's some fuses and wires, we opened it up..

whatever dude.
ok so if "it means what it means" then here's what it means:

you have a ground kit that ONLY GROUNDS 1 COMPONENT (the battery) (hooray!)

I (and others on the org) have a so-called "hyperground" that GROUNDS SEVERAL COMPONENTS.

but like I said, the thing you bought ISN'T a hyperground, its a voltage/amperage/power regulator. plain and simple. It's a good thing to have for people who are running big stereo systems and subs, because it reduces battery electrical flow "surges"

I'm trying to explain **** to help you out here, but apparently you're going to be too hardheaded to listen. Just because the box of a product says something doesn't make it true. But I guess everyone is just "dissing" you - you must feel so oppressed so just believe what you want...

some of us went to engineering school and learned things...

um....Jason Elam (j/j)

Uh ok you should direct things, I just saw a question..So you're an engineer and I'm a Journalist =) whoopy.. Well whatever the person I bought this from wouldn't bull**** me, plus I read what this box says..It means what it says..

so......you still didn't tell us how much you paid for it....

I'm not bragging about going to engineering school, I'm just saying that in engineering school you learn about...um....engineering (which includes electrical systems).

oh, and people who sell things bullsh1t customers all the time.

BTW, I have a "tornado" turbo boost thingy I'll sell you along with the Brooklyn Bridge.

IBTL.

I'm out.
