BOSE Rattle

I am finally sick of the rattling caused by the sub in the rear deck. I know this has been talked about b4 but I cannot use the search function. Also, there is a link in the "Sticky: Installation Instructions /How-To's For..." for this, but that link is broken.

I was just wondering how I would go about disassembling the rear deck? Is there anything I should know before I start this?

Thanks!

Check my site for a how-to if you'd like to solve this yourself. Plus, using Dynamat or equivalent makes the sub sound significantly stronger and tighter.

Housecor... I was planning on dynamating the back similar to urs but i was also thinking about doing my front doors with the left overs. You think its worth it?

I added the left over to my front doors and can't really tell a big difference in sound quality. I do have a different rattle coming from my door though. I think it is coming from one of the plastic clips that holds the door panel on. Every time I go over a bumpy road it rattles like crazy and is bugging the HELL out of me. I thought I fixed it when I added the silencer to my doors but it didn't. Also, I saved some $ and went to Lowe's and bought fake Dynamat, Home Depot didn't have it. It is actually roofing material that has the tar (sticky stuff) on one side and the foil on the other. I put this on my rear deck and it works like a charm. The only thing that rattles is the plastic housing for the car seat hook. I know I'm not Housecor, but two heads are better than one...

I dynamatted with the full trunk kit and then did the rear deck separetely..the majority of the noise comes from the seatbelt connections and then where the back of the rear deck meets the windshield...if you stick anything back there like a tshirt it will stop making that annoying noise...and you can't see it if you place it right...or just use dynamat

oh yah I used Xtreme Dynamat (silver) on the rear deck and trunk lid...that does matter as opposed to original dyamat (blue and black) . . . only rattle i can't get rid of is this weird noise you can hear from outside the car right where the gas tank is and i was told its some piece that stops things from entering the gas tank area and shoulnd't be touched...and you can only hear it if you're really really listening for it

Actually, no. They produce hardly any bass anyway since they're crossed over fairly high. I'd be worried you'd just create more rattles by removing the panel. Just my 2 cents though.
