Who knows how to retrieve the ECU codes on 2000 SE?
Who knows how to retrieve the ECU codes on 2000 SE?
I have read the forums and found how to retrieve codes on 95-99 and on 2002+
What about 2000 SE ?
Is it possible without the ODB-II tool?
Thanks...

OK, here in NY autozone doesn't have garages. So the clerk said, we can try but we dont have anyone trained on how to do this. Wow. I 'm pulling out the ECU at another Autozone. Now, how do I pull this out, i'm not trying to leave my car in a parking lot. Where is it/what tools/whats it look like, and what am i expecting. Codes? I can prob get info on the codes here, specifically that ghost knock sensor.

You can NOT do it like the 95-99. The screw does not even exist on the 2000 ECU that is turned on the '95-99 to make it spew codes.
Not 100% sure but I believe the chart in the other post is for 2002+ maxima. I don't recongnise it from the 2000 FSM and I have read the EC sections many times.
Autozone will pull codes in the parking lot
I pulled into Autozone two weeks ago. There was no garage, the guy just plugged the reader into the port below the steering wheel while kneeling in the parking lot. Turned the car on without starting the engine and out came the codes. Took less than 5 minutes. Codes description can be found on this forum or anywhere on the web.

I used the OBD II Reader at Autozone. Just look under the dash near your left knee. There is a connector. Plug it in, and turn on the ingition (don't start the car).
Hit the scan button and away you go. Sorry there is no way that I know of to retrieve it without a reader.

Wow, i was gonna pull it out!! Guess, i went to the wrong autozone cause dude was like I dont know how but bring it into the store. Scary.
I hear the ECU will update mods itself after a few days. And the guys at Nissan was givin me a hard time about doin this. Only 5 minutes? and to think i was gonna slip him a $20!
