Anyone install XM or Sirius in their 5th Gen??

Just wondering how they sound in the max, I am leaning towards Sirius right now mainly because you can get the internet access also, for work, also because I think Howard may be going there. Anyone have either of them?? Let me know how they sound with plug and play

I have Sirius from the free Kenwood giveaway the .org got in on last year-
It sounds good, but you have to crank the volume a little more than you would for other sources on the head unit. I have to remember to turn it down when I switch to a CD or radio or I get blasted out- Aside from that, it sounds clear and it's nice to listen to the same channel without commercials when I take those 4 hour trips to Jersey.

Now i am hearing Sirius is going bankrupt can this be true even though they are newer and this is why their revenue is lower than XM? Anyone with any info throw it in cause I want to decide on one soon, now i may go to xm, they do have nicer plug and plays and lower rates......

The only bankruptcy news I heard was in Fall of 2002--I haven't heard anything about it lately, and they are adding a ton of new shows and they have the NFL and NHL. Where did you hear this?

My friend has XM with the FM modulator (complete garbage). He uses it mostly for home, so it is easily transferred between home and car (a plus). The home sound is decent, but I think the car suffers

I'm running the SkyFi with FM modulator on a stock non-Bose deck, Polk 3500 tweets, and an Infinity Basslink sub.

Sounds great EXCEPT the stock mids aren't cutting it anymore. I'm just waiting to upgrade the mids, since I need a deck and 4-channel amp. I've got to do all that at once.

You bet, If you are going to do it, do it right, or dont do it at all.

are you going to change your head unit as well?

i too have sirius with my Kenwood HU. i rarely listen to regular radio or cd's anymore. with all the channels you can choose from you dont need anything else.

the quality is definally cd quality or better, and with digital service you dont get any static, but it does cut out like a cell phone if you go under an overhang or on a road with lots of overhead tree coverage.

also i have my antenna inside on the rear deck, dont want anything on the outside of the car, so my service might cut out before someone with a roof mounted antenna might

Sirius Audiovox unit with the Modulater.

Didn'tfeel like cracking into the dash to get to the radio, so I bought the cheap and dirty Audiovox/Sirius unit from Bestbuy. Ran the wires into the center console under the seat and plugged it into the cigarette lighter from the back. Works great. Philly radio sucks, so I love it.

Alpine head unit with Alpine XM box, I mounted my Trek antenna right in the middle of my rear deck- where the stock subwoofer sits on the BOSE cars. Works great and I get just as good of a reception 04 Acura TL does with its roof mouned XM antenna. With tinted windows you can't tell I got satelite radio. I also got the SkyFi for home and work use, I listen to it all the time at work. Whats nice is I don't have to bring CDs when I go camping and risk them getting destroyed. I just bring the Delphi boom box with me 14.95 a month for both receivers.
