resetting the TCM

I was reveiwing the faq's and saw the reset for the TCM. I am currently having minor problems with my tranny. The car shifts moderatly hard and the shifts last about twice as long as they should (best way I could think of to describe symptoms). Will the reset help me? Is it possible if I do the reset I may cause more problems?

I would not recommend changing your tranny fluid other than perscribed intervals on an ATX. An automatic needs a specific consistance of tranny fluid and friction in order to shift properly. If you change your tranny fluid improperly your transmission will slip. Also if you change it you need to add an additive that promotes grip. I believe this additive is called a "friction modifier".
