y pipe wont ufckin fiyt

i bought a y pipe and it wont fit and the guy from the company is being a duech face and im having trouble exchanging it becasue suposably a "profesinal installer" has installed many of these and i was like and thats supost to mean that its not a defect? so if any one has sugestions such as re drilling the holes or should i just keep *****ing at the dude? i serioulsy cant get it on i unbolted my headers to try and get it to line up and it still wouldnt. i serioulsy could of had it done in 50 minetes or so but the pipe is gay and shtuff so ya but i want to know if anyone had the same problem.

What brand is it? You shouldn't have to drill hloes for a y-pipe install. I just recently put a Warpspeed on mine and it went pretty easy. Hardest thing was connecting the o 2 sensors, but even that was pretty darn easy. Try and be a little more clear with your post, it's kind of hard to understand your problem.

Perhaps you should let a professional install it for you.

After reading your posts, I wonder if your really qualified.

on your engine plate right in front of where it says the #3000 there are sensors. Fed have 2 cali have 4. When i wanted to know i E-mailed Brian at Cattman and he sent me a nice picture that shows exactly how to tell fed from cali.

I had that exact same problem this morning with a custom maxima Y pipe, I had my local Meineke cut the pipe in half (between the flanges), bolt both parts to the headers, then weld the bottom of the pipe... Unbolt, then weld the top, took like 30 minutes...

Sometimes you just gotta call in the big guns man

Nuts, too much work....I went to Meineke to install and they told me they couldn't do it becasue it was "illegal" to remove precats...and they sorta know me (my boy's boys work there), but they did tell me exactly how to do it, so I went home and did it myself. Everything fit fine and its nice! BTW, this was a WSP pipe form the GD

Oh yea, if your car is not a 99 and you got a CALI pipe, that's your problem right there....

If only you knew what the **** you were talking about. Every year of the 4th gen had a CALI model except maybe the 95 but I'm sure it had a CALI model as well.

That is true, BUT the exhaust for the Cali cars and Fed between 95-98 are all the same. The Cali changed the exhaust in 99 to a new system

Just curious...did the front part of the ypipe line up good with the front header but the rear header portion was the part that was off?

If so, this is a problem I had with the Stone Racing Header/ypipe prototype. Looks like they're still having problems.

I had a similiar problem with my custommaxima pipe last week. The budget pipe i took off fit perfect, the new one was off a like an 8th, and while trying to wrestle it on we striped the studs on the manifold, leaked like crazy, got completly screwed when i took it to the shop, they claimed it was very time consuming, funny it took me and a friend like an hour and a half with out a lift or air tools and complications. charged me 250 bucks to fix it just to find out thats not were the rattle was coming from, apparently form the car's hard starting problem, when it backfires it blew out the insides of my apexi muffle/cat back so i now i need a new cat back...YAY...just thought i'd share.

ya the front lined up but not the back or visa versa what ever way you try to put it on. its very frustrating when you spend the money and then it dosent fit. but i think im just gunna cut it blot it on tach weld it afew times and brong it to my buddy who welds better then me cause if i do it , it will look liek a bird **** metal in the middle of the pipe lol.

Solution for me...

We had the rear flange cut off the ypipe (the part that connects to the rear header)...then we drove the car 1/2 mile to the muffler shop with only the front of the ypipe connected and the rear header portion only connected to the flange that was cut off. Had the muffler shop reweld the 2 parts together. No problems since. Cost me $10 to have the weld it together.

I'm not arguing any of that. You said there are no pre 99 CALI specs and there are, that's all I was saying.

Instead of fighting and cursing and welding and torching, how about finding the correct Y pipe for the car?

OK, he showed a pic of the **** racing y-pipe. Did the y-pipe come with the headers or just the y-pipe? If it's just the ypipe I'm guessing that it was made for those headers alone and not any others despite the fact that the moron who was selling them before said they fit fine on other cars.
