which b-pipe should i get?

What is the best b-pipe to get. i want one with a resonator. Dont want it to sound ricey. Considering either warpspeed or cattman. The warpspeed is a lot cheaper so i am leaning towards that one. Am i just paying for the name with Cattman? I do already have a warpspeed y-pipe.

Go custom.
Sounds great....if you leave the stock resonator on.
And it is cheap....like $50 installed.
I have that with a 5th gen muffler, and I love the quiet setup.

Id get the Cheaper one just cause the cattman is pretty expensive but Cattman is the bomb no doubt if you want the best. Should be able to get a good deal at SWA

You are definitely not just paying for the name with a Cattman B-pipe.

I had the Warpspeed b-pipe without the resonator, and it was a nice throaty growl as opposed to rice. I had the b-pipe with the stock muffler for awhile, and it flowed just about the same as my Greddy cat-back system does. The only problem that I had, was the Warpspeed b-pipe/y-pipe was 2 inches shorter than the stock setup.

Agreed. no res on my car is not rice. You'll get a throaty growl. I have custom 2.5 catback with stock muffler and its nice and quite with a little growl from underneath the car. With other-than-stock muffler im sure it sounds much diff. If you dont want to payalot or are iffy on what to get, go to your local muffler/exhaust place and ask how much it would cost to get a custom mandral bent 2.5" cattback made. its about the same price if not cheaper to get them custom made. just make sure they route the curves of it high enough above ur rear axle before the muffler. had to have them fix mine because it was hitting the axle with wieght in the car as i went over any kind of bump. just keep that in mind

I do want a throaty growl and not a ricey sound so if i can get that with a non resonated pipe then i'll go for that. if I do, how will that affect my emmissions?

can you keep the stock resonator and work a custom B pipe with it?

It wont effect emmisions, and yes im pretty sure u can work with stock res. though i prolly wouldnt if going with a 2.5 catback. Also good idea to maybe have them work something for u if u have the small "S" piece directly after the cat that holds an O2 sensor like mine does. kinda restrictive looking if u ask me. btw the B-pipe wont give u rice. that would be ur muffler selection

@ PhillyDonut:
Yes.
I have the stock resonator and a custom B-pipe.
I like it that way because it is not really loud at all.
It just sounds more like a V6 rather than a V6 trying to sound like a V8 (which is what a lot of these cars end up sounding like with certain mufflers).

Thanks, that is good to know. How much did it cost go get it done? and would you say it's simple enough that a place like i.e. Meineke can do it? I'm still leaning toward a warpspeed B with resonator b/c I have their Y so wanted to keep it a set, but I hear people saying this combo is 2" shorter than stock... not sure what kinda of problem this may cause.

My custom 2.5" B-pipe was $160. It all depends on ur area muffler/exhaust shops. Shop and compare! mine was mandral bent. get that

Well, it could make your muffler just not fit right, because the b-pipe is not long enough.
It cost me like $50 installed.
Meinke will probably be on the pricey side of the muffler shops. I might be wrong, but I would not pay more than like $75 or so installed. More than that, and it would not make sense to have a custom one....you would just need to go ahead and get the WSP one.

It does not matter to have it a set, but if you want to spend the money....go ahead.
It is not like it says WSP anywhere on it....I don't think. I mean, after some road use, you will not be able to tell them apart anyway.
