Assuming a bad knock sensor, can a resistor be inserted to fool it?

Ala the 3rd generation Nissan Maximas. On my 1992 SE, the knock sensor was faulty, and a "known" way to get around it was to use a resistor at the leads. I realize this would make the knock sensor useless, but is it still possible on a 1995 Maxima SE, using the same/a similiar trick?
Obviously they're different cars, but hey, if it works, it works. Thanks in advance!

Yea your better off spending half an hour and about $100 and maybe some bruised knuckles to do it right. Only because if you do have some knock afterwards you'll damage your engine. You might be a very careful driver but you might lend your car to your sister or friend and they'll put regular 87 gas in it and you'll be screwed.
im gonna say what every one else is saying, my knock sensor went bad and i put in a resistor cuz im waiting to get a new sensor the only thing is that the car still gets crappy gas milage. just put the resistor in there if u want and then get the sensor asap!
