Wheel Stud/Caliper Bolt....Another Day in Paradise

Long Story.......

So today was "SUPPOSED" to be a day of fixing the maxima I started off by taking the maxima to get my stock muffler welded back on, because my exhaust was to loud with the new Y-pipe... so everything goes good there, so the next thing on my list is to replace my wheel stud ( on right front wheel). I was going to attempt this myself but when i got to looking at it i said no way , so i took it to a buddy of mine at econo lube, he said he would replace the stud for $10, so i brong the car over there, the first thing they got to do is cut the nut of the broken stud, after about 1/2 hour they got the nut off and took the stud off, heres a pic on what the stud looked like after.

so after they get it off and there putting the new stud in, the mechanic told me the new stud would fit, but the other broken stud made the stud hole bigger, so he suggested i should get it welded on. so im thinking damn POS.. so there putting everything back together and the mechanic guy calls me over again and says well the lower back caliper bolt wont go back in...i sad WTF... he was showing me how everything is lined up and all the other bolts went in fine. so i told him try to tighten it down as much as you can so he does and at the last turn with the wrench...SNAP...there goes the ****** F---IN BOLT..... now im ****ed off... so i ask my buddy (which is the owner of the shop)if he can drill it out.. he says we cant drill it out.. so just to make sure i called nissan and they said the same thing my buddy said your going to need a new caliper bracket and a bolt... so im thinking damn he goes more $$$ i call around and so does the mechanic .... and sure enough nissan or any of his contacts sells the bracket by itself you have to buy the whole F---IN caliper , so what am i going to do now, my car isnt going anywhere..so i gotta get a caliper and 2 new bolts...HERES A PIC OF THE BUSTED BOLT

so i walk to my GF'S house since its close by, and i get a call form my buddy at econo lube at 3pm saying... i called every nissan dealership within 40 miles and none of the Dealerships have the 19mm caliper bolt...he even went to lowes but found nothing... so now im out 100.00 and my car sits at ECONO LUBE tonight im so damn ****ed ...ohh ya i have motor mounts i gotta worry about too... thats another project and a half..

Ummm... sounds to me like the mechanic cross-threaded the bolt when he put it back in and that's why it wouldn't go in all the way....

when you get the new bolt, I'd make sure that the bolt hole isn't stripped or cross-threaded...

just my $0.02...

good luck mang...

Wow, that all sucks.

But, what happened to you is exactly why I do all my own work.
